The Council of Baltimore Raven Roosts' to Hold Annual Convention in Ocean City, Maryland
Ocean City, Maryland (PRWEB) April 24, 2008 -- Ocean City, Maryland will be a sea of purple beginning May 29, 2008. On that date, thousands of die-hard Baltimore Ravens fans will be coming to the resort town to celebrate their favorite football team. The three day event features everything from miniature golf to a town wide scavenger hunt. This year's event will be attended by over 50 Raven Roost fan clubs from all over the region. Club members come to compete in the annual parade, a volleyball tournament, karaoke competition and, of course, to party! The four day bash is an annual spring event that has become extremely popular in Ocean City. This event began in the late '60s as the Colts' Corrals Convention and has grown into one of the largest events of its kind.
The 2008 convention kicks off on Thursday May 29th with a 7 PM welcome social at the Castle in the Sand Hotel and Open Mike Night and Karaoke. Friday brings a full schedule of events including a Scavenger Hunt, Horseshoe Tournament, a Punt Pass and Kick Contest and a Tug of War all hosted at the Castle in the Sand Hotel. Friday evening is the annual Island Party catered by the always popular Beefalo Bob. The evening's events conclude with the karaoke contest judged by the Castle Staff and the dunk tank which features Ravens players taking frequent dips!
The Ravens Roost Parade highlights Saturday's festivities as it heads down Coastal Highway beginning at 10:00 AM. The Ravens Roost Beach Party is a fan favorite after the parade from 1:00 - 6:00 PM, again hosted by the Castle and catered by Beefalo Bob. After the conclusion of the volleyball and horseshoe competitions, the evening will conclude with an awards ceremony at 7:00 PM. Coconuts Beach Bar and Grill (http://www.coconutsbeachbar.com) will provide food, fun and drink as well as live entertainment throughout the weekend. Coconuts is located at the Castle in the Sand Hotel.
